Description Toadfield 2021-01-12 13:40:40 UTC
Right now you can only do it to max 300%,but it would be cool to be able to scale it to anything.

Are items still displaying too small on your monitor? What is your monitor's size and native resolution?
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2021-01-13 03:11:45 UTC
Yeah what's the use case? Do you have like an 8k screen? :)

No,but I wanna experiment with downscaling from 8k to 1080p and then it looks small if I do that.

Note that Bug reporter in Bug 431494 claims that he can set a higher resolution than the monitor's native resolution, and "everything will look crispier".
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2021-01-13 15:11:41 UTC
But do you *have* a super high resolution screen? What are the resolution and size of the screen you would like to set a custom scale factor on, and what custom scale factor would you like to use?

That works on every monitor probably if your monitor isn't to old to support that.

Go in a game>enable ssaa>then everything will look crispier.

Nope

50%,500%,just for experimenting.

We're happy to support real use cases. Features added "just for experimenting" simply provide an opportunity for inexperienced users to break their systems, which is not worth satisfying the occasional curiosity of technical experts.

Then could you add a setting to enable "advanced display settings"?
And there are already easys ways to break your system in kde settings by setting a too big size for something, like for example too big fonts.

Right. Too many. :) We want to *reduce* the number of ways you can accidentally break your system, not add more.
