Application: plasmashell (5.20.5) Qt Version: 5.15.2 Frameworks Version: 5.77.0 Operating System: Linux 5.10.4-1-default x86_64 Windowing system: Wayland Distribution: "openSUSE Tumbleweed" -- Information about the crash: - What I was doing when the application crashed: It was working well until I applied all patches for Tumbleweed (my last update was in October 2020). It looks like plasma was also updated and if there is a second screen connected that screen does not display anything at all. In addition to that, if I try to enable the screen in the Tumbleweed setting it hangs the computer and I need to re-start. - Custom settings of the application: This is a Dell Precision 5550 I have an additional screen connected through Display Port OS Tumbleweek (the latest update caused the problem) The crash can be reproduced every time. -- Backtrace: Application: Plasma (plasmashell), signal: Segmentation fault [KCrash Handler] #4 0x00007fd2df6b0282 in QScreen::name (this=0x55d2c53523b0) at kernel/qscreen.cpp:195 #5 0x000055d2c46f930f in ShellCorona::addOutput (this=this@entry=0x55d2c5358c10, screen=<optimized out>, screen@entry=0x55d2c53523b0) at /usr/src/debug/plasma5-workspace-5.20.5-1.1.x86_64/shell/shellcorona.cpp:1288 #6 0x000055d2c46f9fab in ShellCorona::load (this=<optimized out>) at /usr/src/debug/plasma5-workspace-5.20.5-1.1.x86_64/shell/shellcorona.cpp:730 #7 0x00007fd2df2518c6 in QtPrivate::QSlotObjectBase::call (a=0x7ffc0de8bc70, r=0x55d2c5358c10, this=0x55d2c5459710) at ../../include/QtCore/../../src/corelib/kernel/qobjectdefs_impl.h:398 #8 doActivate<false> (sender=0x55d2c53f51c0, signal_index=4, argv=argv@entry=0x7ffc0de8bc70) at kernel/qobject.cpp:3886 #9 0x00007fd2df24ac20 in QMetaObject::activate (sender=<optimized out>, m=m@entry=0x7fd2e13bd560, local_signal_index=local_signal_index@entry=1, argv=argv@entry=0x7ffc0de8bc70) at kernel/qobject.cpp:3946 #10 0x00007fd2e1399311 in KActivities::Consumer::serviceStatusChanged (this=<optimized out>, _t1=<optimized out>) at /usr/src/debug/kactivities5-5.77.0-1.1.x86_64/build/src/lib/KF5Activities_autogen/EWIEGA46WW/moc_consumer.cpp:253 #11 0x00007fd2df251900 in doActivate<false> (sender=0x55d2c53ed9a0, signal_index=11, argv=argv@entry=0x7ffc0de8bdd0) at kernel/qobject.cpp:3898 #12 0x00007fd2df24ac20 in QMetaObject::activate (sender=sender@entry=0x55d2c53ed9a0, m=<optimized out>, local_signal_index=local_signal_index@entry=8, argv=argv@entry=0x7ffc0de8bdd0) at kernel/qobject.cpp:3946 #13 0x00007fd2e13aa90e in KActivities::ActivitiesCache::serviceStatusChanged (_t1=KActivities::Consumer::Running, this=0x55d2c53ed9a0) at /usr/src/debug/kactivities5-5.77.0-1.1.x86_64/build/src/lib/KF5Activities_autogen/EWIEGA46WW/moc_activitiescache_p.cpp:412 #14 KActivities::ActivitiesCache::setAllActivities (this=0x55d2c53ed9a0, _activities=...) at /usr/src/debug/kactivities5-5.77.0-1.1.x86_64/src/lib/activitiescache_p.cpp:284 #15 0x00007fd2e139d522 in KActivities::ActivitiesCache::passInfoFromReply<QList<ActivityInfo>, void (KActivities::ActivitiesCache::*)(QList<ActivityInfo> const&)> (f=<optimized out>, watcher=<optimized out>, this=0x55d2c53ed9a0) at /usr/src/debug/kactivities5-5.77.0-1.1.x86_64/src/lib/activitiescache_p.cpp:195 #16 KActivities::ActivitiesCache::setAllActivitiesFromReply (watcher=<optimized out>, this=0x55d2c53ed9a0) at /usr/src/debug/kactivities5-5.77.0-1.1.x86_64/src/lib/activitiescache_p.cpp:210 #17 KActivities::ActivitiesCache::qt_static_metacall (_o=0x55d2c53ed9a0, _c=<optimized out>, _id=<optimized out>, _a=<optimized out>) at /usr/src/debug/kactivities5-5.77.0-1.1.x86_64/build/src/lib/KF5Activities_autogen/EWIEGA46WW/moc_activitiescache_p.cpp:201 #18 0x00007fd2df251900 in doActivate<false> (sender=0x55d2c53d3590, signal_index=3, argv=argv@entry=0x7ffc0de8c040) at kernel/qobject.cpp:3898 #19 0x00007fd2df24ac20 in QMetaObject::activate (sender=<optimized out>, m=m@entry=0x7fd2dfcad5c0 <QDBusPendingCallWatcher::staticMetaObject>, local_signal_index=local_signal_index@entry=0, argv=argv@entry=0x7ffc0de8c040) at kernel/qobject.cpp:3946 #20 0x00007fd2dfc8d92f in QDBusPendingCallWatcher::finished (this=<optimized out>, _t1=<optimized out>) at .moc/moc_qdbuspendingcall.cpp:158 #21 0x00007fd2df247311 in QObject::event (this=0x55d2c53d3590, e=0x55d2c536aa40) at kernel/qobject.cpp:1314 #22 0x00007fd2dff9b50f in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper (this=<optimized out>, receiver=0x55d2c53d3590, e=0x55d2c536aa40) at kernel/qapplication.cpp:3632 #23 0x00007fd2df21b2ea in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2 (receiver=0x55d2c53d3590, event=0x55d2c536aa40) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:1063 #24 0x00007fd2df21dd21 in QCoreApplicationPrivate::sendPostedEvents (receiver=0x0, event_type=0, data=0x55d2c5339b70) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:1817 #25 0x00007fd2df2731b3 in postEventSourceDispatch (s=0x55d2c5367340) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_glib.cpp:277 #26 0x00007fd2dd632e57 in g_main_context_dispatch () from /usr/lib64/libglib-2.0.so.0 #27 0x00007fd2dd6331d8 in ?? (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 421700 *** Are you sure this is a duplicate? I started seeing this recently but it only happens with Display Port. Unlike bug 421700 which says HDMI is broken, HDMI works for me I only have issues with Display Port.
