Description tromzy 2021-01-04 15:46:02 UTC
SUMMARY
In Plasma Wayland, if I right click an icon in the Task Manager, the context menu of the window disappears immediately after I put my mouse pointer on it, making it impossible to click anything.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In Wayland, right click a launcher or an open application in the Task Manager
2. After the context menu shows up, put the mouse pointer on it (to select the "Close window" action for example).
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
The context menu vanishes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Nate Graham 2021-01-04 20:36:55 UTC
Does the same thing happen if you right-click on an empty area of the panel, or on a different panel applet like the clock?
Comment 2 tromzy 2021-01-05 08:41:52 UTC
I cannot give you more information for the moment, because today I cannot reproduce, on my freshly booted machine. I'll wait and see if it happens at some point today.
Comment 3 tromzy 2021-01-05 17:43:16 UTC
So, it happens again, and I think I found out the culprit : the window thumbnail. The thumbnail appears and when it vanishes, it makes the context menu popup vanish at the same time.

Thanks. Can you test again with Plasma 5.21 once it's released? I have a dim memory of this being fixed in 5.21.

Nope, it is not fixed in 5.21, still happening.
Comment 8 MiRei 2021-02-20 14:24:52 UTC
Exactly same error on my systems.
Still occures after upgrading to Plasma-Shell 5.21.

Can confirm this still happens for me on Plasma 5.21.4 Wayland session (Intel graphics). It appears to be when a context menu is open and either the window thumbnails or a tooltip fade out, the menu is closed. Particularly annoying as the thumbnails fade in again repeating the problem and making the context menu unusable.

For reference, I have the "Icons-only Task Manager" on left side of my screen.
