I assume you are using the 32 bit digiKam version on your 64 bit Windows. Download the 64 bit digiKam-7.2.0-RC here and test it: https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Maik
Maik, Definitively, we need to drop 32 bits from now, as we receive more and more memory problem with these bundle versions. Your viewpoint ? Gilles
From my side, immediately. ((:-)) It also saves you a lot of useless compilation time. Maik
Ok, i will patch release scripts in this way. Gilles
Created attachment 134522 [details] attachment-24961-0.html Hi Mayk, thanks for your quick response. I installed 64Bit version of digikam as you suggested in your link also all additional plug ins. Digikam works faster but by using filter same problem as in front named. These are not log files from the Microsoft DebugView program. I have to see if I can do something with it tonight. Another question, do you mean with "Filter" the Filters tab in the right sidebar? And which filter option do you use? Maik

Ok, you have tons of JPGs, CR2, TIFF and also XCF images that cannot be read. I would suspect your drive is defective. Make a data backup and a drive check. In the end it always fails with this file: G:/Bilder/2016/2016-06-26/Composing_DJ8A4816_V1.xcf Can you make it available for me to test? Our QImageLoader is responsible for XCF files and it seems to crash with this defective XCF image. Maik
Created attachment 134548 [details] FA7227B8A2A04B74B8A0ED5B1D9CACB6.png I understood, I checked my Picture HDD with Windows „chkdsk /f“. Also I tested system files of integrity with „sfc /scannow“ which are stored at SSD c:\ There were no mistakes at Picture HDD investigates and no violations of integrity were found. Pls see attached picture which is unfortunately in German. You are right that all pictures which are labeled with error#11 has been destroyed by a HDD crash in front. I copied them in the hope of finding a programm with which I can still save them. I copied also all named xcf files to the Cloud too. https://www.magentacloud.de/share/rfpxgjpvv6 I am using gimp 2.10.22 for Windows. I opened all xcf files for working with them in gimp. Ok, if you had a defective HDD, it explains the defective images. Our JPG and PNG loader can load defective images, your images are probably already defective at the beginning. Yes, some of the defective XCF files can still be loaded with Gimp, all programs that are based on the so-called KImageFormat plugin cannot. However, digiKam does not crash with these images under Linux or Windows. Nevertheless, I suspect that the crash with you is related to a defective image. Perhaps they can narrow down the image that leads to crash. Maik

This TIF file could cause the crash: G:/Bilder/2014/2014-09-19/19092014 165.tif I am also surprised that for numerous MPG and 3GP video files cannot be create a thumbnail. The TIF image is a good candidate for the cause of the crash, we already have bug reports that TIF files crash more frequently under Windows with digiKam. If the TIF is the cause, I would like to have it for testing. Maik
