Description Toadfield 2020-12-31 08:20:55 UTC
I would like to display applications over fullscreen windows.
I mean Latte Dock for example can do it,so it's not impossible I thing.
Comment 1 Christoph Feck 2020-12-31 12:07:58 UTC
I guess there was a reason to have a fullscreen window even above "Keep Above" windows, so maybe an option could be added.

Yeah,an option to enable/disable the feature I want in the kde settings would be cool,so it is disabled by default,so it doesn't annoy people, but you also can enable it if you want.

Yeah, I agree. This periodically annoys me.

KWin uses the stacking order recommended by the NetWM spec, which says that keep above windows have to be placed under fullscreen windows/active layer.

So is there no way that the devs could change that or did I get you wrong?
Comment 6 Nate Graham 2021-02-19 00:02:44 UTC
Basically, we would have to propose a change to the spec, or consciously decide to break our adherence to that aspect of the spec.

I'd really like this to be at least an option. When playing games set to fullscreen sometimes I'd like to have a firefox PiP window running, or some overlay utility.
