SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. upload folder
2. will just looking and crush
3. after 10 min search will crush

OBSERVED RESULT
cant load the images just up to 49%

EXPECTED RESULT
to load the fixture like any other software

What did you do exactly? Have you added a collection from an external drive or tried to open the external drive using the import tool?

We minimally need the output from DebugView, as described here: https://www.digikam.org/contribute/

You can also test whether the problem can still be reproduced with digiKam-7.2.0-Beta2, from here: https://files.kde.org/digikam/

digiKam 7.2.0 official release is published with more than 360 files closed from bugzilla:

This problem still reproducible with the new digiKam 8.2.0 pre-release Windows
installer available at usual place:

https://files.kde.org/digikam/

This new bundle is based on last Qt framework 5.15.11 and KDE framework 5.110.

The digiKam 8.7.0 pre-release for Windows have been rebuild from scratch today with many improvements and updates. Please test with this version to see if the problem is reproducible.
