Created attachment 134302 [details] Screen shot with panel and start menu visible. Info collection program in background. I have a fairly low powered desktop connected to a TV screen via HDMI. When turning the monitor off/on while using Plasma on Wayland it causes some strange fonts and missing icons on the panel. Any other opened program doesn't seem affected. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Plasma (Wayland Session) 2. Turn off TV/Monitor 3. Panel icons missing and fonts rendering incorrectly. No other software affected. EXPECTED RESULT The panel used to have applications favourites and a status panel, those icons are now invisible. Font and icons not rendering on start menu. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Manjaro KDE KDE PLASMA: 5.20.4 FRAMEWORKS: 5.76.0 QT: 5.15.2 AMD Athlon 200GE with Radeon Vega 3 Graphics Wayland
Just did a bit more detective work. It appears that after the display gets turned off and on, plasmashell's CPU usage goes to 100% in htop. It also appears that any opened application will also have 100% CPU usage.
I am not able to reproduce the 100% CPU issue on a live USB, but the fonts still display like they do in the screenshot.
It looks like a Qt or plasma bug.
Hi thought i'd give an update: - KDE Plasma 5.21 doesn't appear to fix this issue. - This issue only seems to happen on the APU of the AMD Athlon 200GE, cannot reproduce on another AMD graphics card. - Logging out and in or rebooting is the only way to temporarily fix the issue.
It seems like a Plasma update sometime in 2021 solved this issue
