SUMMARY I'm not sure if kwin is the correct product for this bug. If not, re-assign it please. I can reproduce this bug on both Arch Linux (Plasma 5.20.4) and neon unstable. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. start Wayland session 2. open Kate and maximize its window 3. open Dolphin 4. drag a text file to an empty area of the files view and do NOT release the mouse button 5. switch back to Kate by pressing alt+tab, keep the mouse button pressed and do NOT move cursor 6. release the mouse button OBSERVED RESULT context menu of Dolphin with "Copy here", "Link here" and "Cancel" options opens. If cursor is moved before the last step, Kate opens the text file as expected. EXPECTED RESULT Kate should open the text file SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2
On Plasma 5.23 beta, Dolphin is focused after releasing mouse button in the last step. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Graphics Platform: Wayland

I can reproduce on both Arch Linux running Plasma 6 beta 2 and Qt 6.7 beta and neon unstable.
