Can you attach a screenshot showing the issue? I'm having a hard time picturing it in my head. :)
Comment 2 tony 2020-12-10 11:08:59 UTC
Hi

It happens intermittently, I will grab a screen shot next time

here is an example of some expanded folders normally

expanded folder :-   folder1

                                             1.txt

                                             2.txt

expanded folder :-   folder2

                                             3.txt

                                             4.txt

when I expand folder 1 the contents are shown as if they are in folder 2 IE

expanded folder :-   folder1 ( shows as empty )

unexpanded folder :-   folder2 ( now lists contents of folder 1 and as
it is unexpanded does not show its own contents)

                                             1.txt

                                             2.txt

Often if i then expand folder3 it shows the contents of folder1 & folder2

It has been happening for a few weeks now but very intermittent, can't
yet find any action that brings it on, although usually I have a long
uptime, but I did reboot yesterday

regards

Tony

Capture of the behaviour

I have attached a screencapture to show and clarify the issue as it affects me too.

I've changed sorting column from "size" eg:"1 element, 2 elements" to "name" and it "fixed it" Just a heads up!

Dolphin's Expand icon not working
Comment 7 Greg Lepore 2021-01-05 13:26:55 UTC
I see this problem when searching for files that appear in multiple folders. Sometimes the expand icon works correctly, sometimes it does nothing, and sometimes the top folders contents appear lower down. See attachment for video of the expand icon doing nothing. New build of 21.03.70.

I mark this as a duplicate in favor of 473999, as it has nailed the issue down to sorting by size.

@Greg Lepore This seems to be another bug, as it does not correlate with sorting by size and it looks like the folder is not expanded at all.
