Description Jesus 2020-12-08 11:09:19 UTC
SUMMARY
I would like dolphin to be able to highlight the file that is being modified with a color change, for example with a copy in detailed view mode or in any other view. And that that color could be changed.

I've been waiting for that feature for many years. I have not found any software that does this. I think it would be a much appreciated feature.

Hello, I am new here. Be patient with me. I have not found where to put my suggestions.

I am not reporting a bug but a new feature.

Thanks

Can you clarify what you mean by "is being modified"? Modified how? By which action? By another app? etc.
Comment 2 Jesus 2020-12-09 11:50:22 UTC
When I dolphin copy large amounts of 4Gb files each, for example, I can
observe how the size of the current file, the one being copied, changes
in the destination directory. When a complete folder is copied, the
files are not copied in order but in the order in which dolphin
considers appropriate, which does not give me an idea of where it is
going. I have to look at the permissions column to know where the new
file is while it is being copied and I get it by observing that the file
has the permissions "rw -------" while it is being copied and then "rw-r
- r - "when it has already been copied.
Therefore, I would like to see that the file being copied has a color
that highlights it in the row in the detailed view (the entire row
colored). It could also be done in another type of view.
It is not a characteristic that is urgent for me. It is only a
suggestion for improvement. This possible feature enhancement should not
slow down the dolphin. If it's going to slow it down, you better forget
my message.
I am Spanish. Sorry for my English (it's from Google translate).

Greetings

I see, thank you.

When you perform a large copy operation, don't you see a notification window that shows you the progress? The current expectation is that you will use this the monitor the copy operation's progress.
