SUMMARY
After installing kdenlive 20.08.03 i did the exact same (same files, same mouse-clicks, everything the same) as i my previous version 20.08.01. But the results of the preview in the timeline get distorted.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Insert two self-recorded (with obs) mkv files into the projekt. (which works if edited the same in Version 20.08.01). (File details se Additional Information)
2. Put both files onto the timeline (one after the other)
3. Cut from the first file on the timeline after two minutes or so and the delete the resulting first piece.
4. Remove resulting emptynes on the beginning of the timeline.
5. Scrub a little around in the first part of the file and play some seconds
6. go to the end of the first file and let it play til its end
4. Cut from the remaing part of the first file on the timeline 2 minutes or so from its end. And remove the resulting righthandside piece, and also the resuting emptyness (You are left with a hugh middlepart of the first file and the appendend full second file)
8. Move the play position into the first quater of the first file and let it play for a moment.
9. Than move the play position into the second halfe of the first file and then the sound gets distorted.

OBSERVED RESULT
The video seems to be played correctly but the sound tracks are distored, wrong tempo, and kind-of in a loop (a loop of the cut part which was remove from the end of the first file). This will *not* adjust after moving the play position around. Speech for example could not be understood anymore.
- In the first half of the first file in the timeline the sound will be played completly normal, for the second half of the first file in the timeline the sound is distorted.
- This happens also if the edditing is done in the Kdenlive 20.08.01, saved and than load again in 20.08.03. After scrubbing to the end of the first file in the timeline, play and going back somewhere else this phenomenon happens again.

EXPECTED RESULT
In Version 20.08.01 which i'm using again bc. of the bug, the preview of the timeline would play normal after cutting the file on the timeline. No sound-distortion.

Can you please try with the latest version? Also lower the preview resolution https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Monitors#Preview_resolution and try again.

There have been cases where it could be your sound card driver.

Hey there
Sorry for not answering for a long time. I was busy. But now i had some minutes to test your suggestion:

I have tried to reproduce my mentioned bug with the standalone version 20.12.3 and with the installed version with the windows-installer as well but i am not able to reproduce the bug right now. For now this particular bug seams to be fixed.

Info:
(I'm still on the same version of Windows as in the bug-report and did not do any updates.
I do use Audio:
Name: Realtek High Definition Audio
Driver: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\RTKVHD64.SYS (6.0.8854.1, 6,88 MB (7.217.752 Bytes), 03.04.2020 19:52)
)

I appreciate your work on this great piece of software :)

Will be back whenever i notice more bugs ;)
