SUMMARY

it would be nice to be able to customize the brightness increment steps. 
For me especially, the 5% minimum is still a bit too bright and I'd like to have a 2,5% step here.

But then changing the brightness to or from any level above that would be twice a slow. I'm not sure this is the best solution.

In general, it's best to describe the problem without proposing a solution. In this case it seems the problem is that the minimum brightness level is still too bright. I've seen this happen with some modern screens that have a very high maximum brightness level.
