Today, the 2 screen get partially merged, and one background screen can sometimes appear on the second one. Also, all notifications and program appear on the wrong screen. A quick fix is to reboot session 1 or 2 times, and then it work for a week or so.

I managed to capture a video (notice that one screen is black because the background merged on the second screen):

In this example, one desktop goes black and cannot right click on it, but I can on the second monitor. The notifications start to appear on the second monitor instead of the first. If I reboot the sesion, "sometimes" it fix the problem. I can reproduce this with 50% chance at boot.

So, there's 2 cases of the same bug:
1) or the 2 screens get merged in the second monitor
2) or the 2 screens get swapped completely

This problem is getting worst... EVERY time I fresh boot, I get this problem. Every day. I have to relogin to sometimes (75% chance) fix the issue.
Comment 7 Franco Pellegrini 2021-07-20 09:29:45 UTC
It getting worst. I can almost always reproduce the problem with a fresh boot. All windows animate and minimize to the other monitor.

Problem continues... and I have to reboot 3 or 4 times everyday until the screens decide to select the correct monitor. Very frustrating.

Darn. :(

An enormous amount of multimonitor fixes went into Plasma 5.27; any chance you could check to see if this is still an issue in Plasma 5.27.4 or newer? Thanks!

If it still happens with that Plasma version, I'll help you troubleshoot it and we'll try to get to the bottom of the issue.
