Open the KCM, either in its stand-alone form or from System Settings. OBSERVED RESULT There is no "Automatically switch all running streams..." checkbox. EXPECTED RESULT The "Automatically switch all running streams..." checkbox is presented to the user along the other options. Appears fine for me on both Neon User and Unstable. What you are seeing in the screenshot is the audio applet config. The checkbox you are looking for is in the KCM though (the second entry in the sidebar)

But it seems like it is ignored, then, because every time I plug in a new audio device all streams are theoretically switched to it. I write "theoretically" because it works like this: - I plug in a new device - I see an OSD notifying me of the new output being availabe - sound isn't available on any device - I have to manually select the output for it to work. I thought the issue was that the preference was not available for some reason, but it's there and it's just not respected. Should I open a new bug report or modify this one? Thanks for your help.
Hmm that's odd. I wonder if it's an issue in PulseAudio itself...
