Description ivan.planinar 2020-11-27 22:03:49 UTC
SUMMARY

Sometimes when I set the audio with my keyboard buttons, the shown percentage and bar is not correct. Audio can still be heard even when 'mute' is shown and also 100% doesn't mean max volume is reached.

EXPECTED RESULT

Audio bar and percentage match the actual volume, always.

Playback device: line out (starship/matisse)

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.9.10-arch1-1
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor
Memory: 31,4 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Radeon RX 5500 XT

But the buttons still have an effect making things louder and quieter?

Does the OSD value match any other slider in the audio control module? Do those sliders work correctly?

Yes, all buttons work and volume does go up or down. This is/was visual problem - visuals do not represent the actual volume range.

So far I haven't had this issue so cannot test it further.
It seems it sorted out (keeping my fingers crossed) after I turned on
"Automatically switch all running streams when a new output becomes available".

Or at least I hope. If I get it again, I will check your suggestions.
