SUMMARY
Digikam 7.1 from Ubuntu softwarecentre doesn't dedect Canon EOS 5D mark II on Ubuntu 20.04.1. Digikam 7.1 from from digikam-7.1.0-x86-64.appimage detect the camera, BUT it can't connect camera. The Digikam say let's check connection (I use the software with different language).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Digikam 7.1.0 from ubuntu software center (sanp: lates/beta or ubuntu-focal-univerce deb)
2. Connect Canon 5d Mark II with USB (computer detect and rabid photo downloader works)
3. open Digikam and import from camera

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Ubuntu 20.04.1
Digikam 7.1.0 - same error was with 7.0

We cannot determine why the Ubuntu package cannot find the camera without a debug output. You should report this problem to Ubuntu. Otherwise, under Ubuntu, the USB port is blocked by the desktop service. Read Bug 412255 and Bug 423392.

@openkartat,

What's about this file using current 8.2.0 AppImage Linux bundle ? It's
reproducible ?
