The folder view currently shows huge folder and file icons.

Now I have like a bunch of mp3's with similar names but some of them have short duration and other's are rather long. Without first adding them to the playlist or giving them new names, I could not tell which one to pick. 

A details view with a "duration" column would help a lot.

Well, it would provide more space to see the long titles, at least. I'll mark this as a duplicate of Bug 411952, if that seems like an acceptable solution to you.
