Description Majid 2020-11-23 09:06:16 UTC
I can not add any storage location in the Filesystem Expose settins, because when tapping "add storage location", no directories is shown, just a Recent button which also opens nothing.
Some other apps use the same menu and it shows a variety of directories to choose.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Pair a device.
2. In the android app tap on the paired device.
3. In the tree-dot menu choose Plugin Settings.
4. Tap on the Filesystem Expose.
5. Tap on Add storage location.
6. Tap on 'click to select'

OBSERVED RESULT
There is no directory to choose, just a "Recent" which also shows nothing.

EXPECTED RESULT
There should be storage locations, so I can choose one.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux
Gnome shell version: 3.38
GS-Connect version: 44

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
KDE Connect version in Android is 1.15.1
Android version is 5.1

Hi Majid,

You did not mention what Android version you're using but I assume based on your description that it's moderately recent. Have you tried expanding the overflow menu in the top left of the system filebrowser to navigate to a different directory? Additionally, you might want to open the three dots menu on the top right and click "Show internal storage" if you want to use an arbitrary folder on your virtual SD card.

Hi Simon,

My Anddroid version is 5.1.
I meant that after expanding the overflow menu, there is nothing to pick.
Also I don't see any three dot menu.

I attached screenshots if that helps.

Thank you
Majid

Thanks for providing the screenshots and the Android version information. Unfortunately this is not something I've seen before. The filesystem plugin hasn't seen any love in awhile and the guy who last worked on it isn't very active any more. Hopefully someone will take ownership of it and can figure out what is going on here.

Do we still not have a maintainer. The "file system expose" plugin used to work like a charm and was probably my favourite feature.

I have version 1.32.0 of android kde connect. I can confirm that there is no secondary menu when you tap "filesystem expose".
Dolphin on the desktop sees the root of the android filesystem but does not have permission to view its contents.
