SUMMARY It's pretty simple to describe. It turns numbers I type to integers. e.g) If I type 9.5 and press enter it's gonna be 10, if I type 16.8 it says 17. I don't believe it changes the actual size of the text, but it's confusing. Where do you mean? The text tool or the UI font settings?

Created attachment 133576 [details] Fractional Point Text Size With version 4.4.1 on Linux Debian 10, I find the following: If I manually enter a fractional point size then it is implemented and the text size does change and can be seen in the SVG editor (SeeFractional Point SVG.) The entered text size is added to the drop down list of text sizes at the end of the list, as are any other 'new' entered text sizes. (See Fractional Point Text Size.) These additional sizes are then ordered if the drop down list is closed and reopened. (See Fractional Point Ordered.) These additions are only present for the duration of a text editing session abd are gone if the edit session is closed.

I'll set this to Confirmed because it is the case, as noted. However, I suspect that it was never intended to display fractional sizes.
Fixed in 5.2.0-prealpha commit 69fc837f (https://invent.kde.org/graphics/krita/-/merge_requests/1836).
