The only way to speakers or headphones to be detected is to be plugged in before boot STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. unplug all audio output devices before boot 2. boot and login 3. connect some headphones OBSERVED RESULT Audio widget is in OFF state, and internal audio profiles are empty EXPECTED RESULT Audio widget change state to ON. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon 5.20 KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0 Qt Version: 5.15.1 Kernel Version: 5.4.0-54-generic OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 6 × Intel® Core™ i5-8400 CPU @ 2.80GHz Memory: 22.9 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 630
I strongly suspect that this is going to wind up either being an issue in PulseAudio, or a conflict between PulseAudio and PipeWire. Moving to Neon for further triage.
