I can confirm this with current Yakuake from git (21.03.70).

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20210119
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Comment 2 Justin Zobel 2021-04-22 01:42:29 UTC
Can confirm still an issue on 21.07.70 from kdesrc-build.
Comment 3 Justin Zobel 2021-12-31 23:48:37 UTC
I've just tested again and it won't center at all now. The position slider in Settings seems to have no effect.
Comment 4 Pavol Pitoňák 2022-07-27 08:14:45 UTC
Position slider doesn't do anything in Fedora 35
KDE 5.96.0
Qt 5.15.3
Comment 5 Justin Zobel 2022-12-01 04:09:19 UTC
This is now fixed in 5.26.3
