I'm sorry, but I cannot reproduce that. The crash happens in the opengl canvas code. Please check whether the crash still happens if you disable canvas accceleration in Krita's settings; if that makes a difference, please provide the information from the "about this mac" dialog.
It does not crash after disabling canvass acceleration. I re-enabled it while having a <10 pixel height file open and it crashed immediately. Hm... That's going to be hard to reproduce because I don't know anyone else who has a mac with an nvidia card, and it's pretty clear it's a bug in the graphics driver that we'd have to work around. I'm afraid you'll have to keep running with gpu canvas acceleration disabled for images this small :-(
