SUMMARY
bugs.kde.org allows numbers in username, but identity.kde.org does not
maybe there are more differences

Not sure if it's identity server bug or bugzilla issue

For technical reasons, bugzilla needs a different account from the identity.kde.org one. I'm not sure if this is fixable. I hope so though. That would be a nice improvement.

Our current Identity system isn't capable of being integrated into Bugzilla, however the newer MyKDE based system likely is (given that other Bugzilla instances such as the SUSE one redirect to an external authentication provider)

That would be lovely!

MyKDE unfortunately didn't pan out so we're moving towards single-sign-on with GitLab instead and I don't know if it will support Bugzilla. Ben do you know?

If it won't, then I think we have to close this.

There are no plans to integrate Bugzilla / Gitlab for login purposes due to a significant number of reasons (including because we'd like to keep the account management process simple, and because Dr Konqi needs adapting to any changes we make to Bugzilla).
