That other bug is talking about clipboard support, this is talking about keyboard input from the "Remote input" section in the app, the button is missing if the PC side is on Wayland.

As of now I have version 1.17.0 on the Android side and Plasma 5.23.2 + KDE Connect 21.08.3 on the PC side, and this feature is still missing.

I suggest to at least not hide the keyboard icon. What about making it "inactive"(half-transparent) and when clicked, show a text like "Wayland keyboard input is currently not implemented"?

It was confusing that keyboard icon was missing and it took me several hours to understand that it is because my PC is in Wayland. I searched where this function is and if it was removed from the app.

i've changed this tittle because it happens too in manjaro so I think is something general

This is still happening on 5.27 and KDE Connect Version 1.22.2 (Android).

It is a wayland issue, I get the message: Keyboard input not supported by the paired device
Comment 10 Prajna Sariputra 2023-02-23 22:20:34 UTC
While Plasma 5.27 does have some of the fixes needed for this to work the KDE Connect app on the PC side also needs to be updated to version 23.04, which has not been released yet (this is noted in the "Version Fixed In" section of the bug report)
