Description Maurizio 2020-11-10 09:00:51 UTC
SUMMARY
I have about thirty * .MP4 files in one directory.

I had grouped these files and labeled them with Digikam.
Suddenly Digikam no longer sees the files and cannot find their names in the search.
I don't see the files in either the "Albums" view or the "Labels" view.

I also specify that in the "Labels" view if I scroll the cursor towards the end I only see the indication of the directory path but I do not see the previews.

In total I have about 10200 files.
I use Digikam's internal database.
Thanks for the attention

I specify that in each file I have inserted the Didascaien (Tag, Description, Information) and I do not have the sidecar files enabled.

Sorry: I specify that in each file I had inserted the captions (Tag, Description, Information) and I do not have the sidecar files enabled.

Files still present on your computer ?

Sure, the files are always in the directory. Only Digikam no longer sees them.

In the same folder I have files with similar names.
For example:
MVI_3080.MP4;
MVI_3082.MP4 (Grouped with about 30 other files with the same type of name, for example MVI_3083.MP4);
MVI_3082-converted.mp4;

Digikam does NOT see MVI_3082.MP4;
Digikam SEE MVI_3082-converted.mp (and does not see all the files that had been grouped);
Digikam SEE MVI_3080.MP4

Go to the album with the files. Is the video on which you have grouped the others shown a different frame and is a counter number shown in a folder symbol? Can you open the group?

Is the addition "xx hidden items" displayed in the status bar? If so, go to the album on the left with the right mouse button and select "repair hidden items".

Thanks Maik

your solution solved the problem. I found and fixed the hidden items.

What caused it? I recently updated Digikam to 7.1.0. Maybe this is the problem?

There are several causes, we will probably not be able to clarify it anymore. It can occur if you copy the front item to another directory by yourself. In older digiKam versions, the items were not visible again when you deleted the front item (this bug has been fixed). To fix such problems with "hidden" items, the repair function was built in. Defective versioned items can also be repaired with it.
