screenshot of the GTK Style system settings menu that is now missing

SUMMARY

In recent versions of KDE/Kubuntu, the system settings category "GNOME/GTK Application Style" is missing.

Here is a screenshot from userbase.kde.org of this system settings module that is now missing with no replacement: https://userbase.kde.org/File:SystemSettingsGTK.png

I'm not sure if this was a deliberate removal of these settings, but there does not seem to be an alternative way to adjust things like icon themes for applications that use GTK 2.0 except for making changes to the file at ~/.gtkrc-2.0

Unfortunately, many apps use GTK 3.0 and some still use GTK 2.0, and these system settings are helpful to obtain a consistent desktop experience even when using these GTK applications.

If removal of this feature was not intended, consider this a bug report. If the removal of the settings were intentional, consider this a feature request. Or rather, please bring the feature back!

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Navigate to System Settings > Application Style
2. "GNOME/GTK Application Style" is missing and so are all the settings underneath it

OBSERVED RESULT

There is no way in the GUI system settings module to configure the appearance of GTK2 and GTK3 applications.

EXPECTED RESULT

There should be a way in the GUI system settings module to configure the appearance of GTK2 and GTK3 applications.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Kubuntu 20.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8
Kernel Version: 5.4.0-52-generic
OS Type: 64-bit

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Nate Graham 2020-11-09 21:35:07 UTC
It's now a sub-page of the Application Style KCM, and most of its settings are now set automatically simply by using the corresponding KDE thing. For example setting a cursor style now applies the new style for both KDE/Qt and GNOME/GTK apps.
