As mentioned in the title, if you create a Link to address (URL) pointing to a local file, the icon shown is "folder". Additionally, it gets treated as a folder (it can be opened) and only after opening it is the file opened (a markdown file would be opened in Okular for instance). It seems like inconsistent behavior to me given that all other kinds of usage are consistent: If you make a URL to a folder, it shows a folder icon and behave like one. If you make a URL to a kioslave like man://, it shows a help-contents icon and opens the main man:// folder. If you make a URL to a kioslave like fonts://, it shows a preferences-desktop-font-installer icon, opening the main font folder. If you make a URL to a website, it shows a text-html icon, and it opens on your browser.
