SUMMARY I am trying to import this (https://store.kde.org/p/1435628/) template title into my kdenlive but it crashes. It doesn't crash ( however transparent background gets converted to black ) in the appimage kdenlive for the same version i.e. 20.08.2 but crashes in ubuntu packages version. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add kdenlive PPA and update. 2. Then install kdenlive and open it from the terminal itself 3. Download this title template : https://store.kde.org/p/1435628/ 4. Also movit lib doesn't work there. I tried creating my own template as well, but as soon as I change the name or change the description of the newly created title text, it crashes. Let me know if more info/logs is needed. Would really help to sort this out. As it's the 'only' app I use to edit my videos -_- Thanks again.
Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 20.08.2 to see if there are any packaging issues https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/20.08/linux/ If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging.

Hey I tried with the latest version. It doesn't crash but then it isn't able to use my nvidia graphics card and hence no gpu effects. Also I can't use any imported kdenlive title file, if I use those instead of those displaying as transparent it shows as opaque. Thanks.
I just pushed an update for 20.12.0 that should improve the situation to allow installing downloadable content. Regarding the downloadable item you are referring (https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/20.08/linux/ ), there is an issue with it because it is not a Kdenlive title template, but instead a kdenlive project file. So it cannot be used as a title template.
