Description Joan 2020-11-04 21:59:20 UTC
I just did a donation to kde using the page at https://kde.org/community/donations/, after confirming the donation I got a 404.
I imagine that the confirmation page is where I could customize the donation message.

When looking at the page at https://kde.org/community/donations/previousdonations/ it doesn't show any messages customized by the users since August

Unfortunally it looks like Paypal doesn't allow to add a customized message. I could make it possible to write a message directly in kde.org instead of paypal but this will need a bit of work :(

The previous system we used had people specify a comment prior to submitting the donation (if they wanted to, it was optional). This was returned to us by PayPal if the donation went through successfully and was recorded in the database and subsequently used to display details on their donation.

We did disable the comments on purpose, people where just using it to troll, advertise questionable websites for a 0.01€ donation, etc.
