SUMMARY OSD notifications are covering the center of the screen where mostly the most important content is. Since the area those cover is opaque, sometimes we could miss important content if it has been covered by OSD notification box. I would recommend following similar approach as Firefox does when you put any YouTube video in full-screen: - it's located at the upper part of the screen - the notification is semi-transparent - it slides down/up - it's doesn't cover too much space STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Press volume up/down on your keyboard or similar OBSERVED RESULT The OSD notification box is a little bit too big, it's opaque and covers the most important part of the screen - a center. EXPECTED RESULT It should be located outside of the central area, should be semi-transparent and a slide down/up animation would help to pay attention to it. Plasma 5.20 has a more compact bar like design, please update and see if you like that more.
Ok, will do, thanks. I will wait for an update on my rolling distro and get back with my comments.
I just installed Plasma 5.20. It looks so much nicer than before, thanks. Do you think transparency and different positioning (upper part of the screen) would be doable in later versions?
