SUMMARY Users sometimes read system try (after drop-down arrow) text rather than look at icons. The text does nothing. The text in the Kicker *does* do something (launches program) so why not in the system tray? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select icon text for hard-to-see icon such as night color. 2. Hope it does the action like turn off night color (or open settings.) 3. Nothing happens: text is dead. OBSERVED RESULT Text is dead: doesn't let you select/open that thing in the system tray. EXPECTED RESULT Text should probably act as if part of the entry that's selectable to do the thing, just as in Kicker or program menus. Clicking on the text works for me. Let me make sure I am understanding you properly: are you saying that when you click on the text of an item in the grid view, nothing happens? Does this happen with all actions? Or only some?
You're right this is not a bug. Maybe the system had just restarted getting input and was slow, or if something was running in the background taking it longer to speed up. The users don't know what 'select & drag' is also or whether they're doing that, which could be a problem. Sorry about this (and can close it)... couldn't test on my own PC as it's a little older KDE...
OK thanks!
