Created attachment 132919 [details] screenshot SUMMARY This bug only occurs on Wayland session. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. use a laptop with touchscreen and without a mouse 2. start Wayland session 3. open system settings > input devices > mouse OBSERVED RESULT as we can see in the attached screenshot, Mouse kcm detects the touchscreen as mouse EXPECTED RESULT touchscreen should not be detected as mouse SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0
I believe touchscreens are emulated as mice. However the Touchscreen module should be in Input Devices.
If you're still able to reproduce this in Plasma 6, please attach the output of `libinput list-devices`.

Here's the problem: > Device: SYNAPTICS Synaptics Large Touch Screen Mouse > Kernel: /dev/input/event5 > Group: 5 > Seat: seat0, default > Capabilities: pointer The same device is also reported correctly as a touch device; IMO its pointer representation should be filtered out at the Libinput level. Please submit a bug report at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/issues/. It's possible they'll say we should be the ones to filter it out, but I'd like to make sure it's not an upstream issue first.
