SUMMARY

There are no easy ways to find out which windowing system is actually using: Wayland or X11. Please, add information about the actual windowing system to System Information, like Gnome does.

What's the use case?

This is useful to know, for example, when reporting a bug. An inexperienced user will have to google how to get this information. It will also be helpful to know which windowing system a given distribution is using (e.g. for live images).

I agree this would be useful given a lot of users will simply copy/paste from kinfocenter when reporting bugs.

This way it's provided from the initial report instead of the triage team having to ask, then wait, etc.

I agree, this would indeed be useful for troubleshooting/debug purposes as more and more people use Wayland, and especially once Fedora switches to Wayland by default.
