I assume the issue is that nothing is display in your Network Neighbourhood?

I've just installed and run smb4k and I can see my server in the list as in screenshot.

LeLapin can you please confirm you have SMB shares visible on your network via other means.
Comment 3 Alexander Reinholdt 2020-10-26 20:08:06 UTC
Thank you for reporting this issue.

I see you are using a Ubuntu package. Could you please tell me which version of Smb4K you are using? Is it 2.0.1, 3.0.4 or 3.0.6?

Have you set the 'client max protocol = NT1' parameter in your smb.conf file (see https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/extragear-network/smb4k/special_remarks.html)?

Yes, I can see my NAS, servers and all my other computers' shares with a file explorer like Nemo or any other. I can see them as SMB and AFP, their advertisements in Windows Network and so on. I can mount them too.

3.0.4.
Comment 5 Alexander Reinholdt 2020-10-27 19:03:11 UTC
For Smb4K 3.0.x there is no other way than explicitly setting the NT1 protocol in the smb.conf config file to get the list of workgroups. Please follow the instructions given in the handbook: https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/extragear-network/smb4k/special_remarks.html

Can you see the workgroups now?
