If you play a video/podcast/music with a media player such as VLC or in your web browser, there are three ways to control the playback: 1) In the app itself 2) Via the app icon popup 3) Via KDEConnect The latter is actually quiet convenient, because it summarizes the controls for any playback at single location, which makes it easy to use. There's no more need to find the right icon of the app, to hover over it or to pen it. It would thus be great if the plasma-pa applet would become kind of a control center, i.e. it would offer additional controls for start/pause for the audio/video streams and make use of the KDEConnect infrastructure.
I've toyed with this idea in my mind myself. The idea would be that we essentially merge the Audio Volume and Media Player applets into a single Audio & Media applet.
Postix's request is for just the existing media player applet which already exists. Given it wasn't referenced it seems he's unaware it exists. Which is odd given it autoloads. Please confirm it's enabled in the system tray or explain why it doesn't suffice.

That's interesting too, but David was right in this case: (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #2) > Postix's request is for just the existing media player applet which already > exists. Interestingly it doesn't need to be put into the panel to show up itself once a stream started. I feel like it's sufficient and I am sorry for the noise. ;)
