Description manuelchaves 2020-10-19 16:04:37 UTC
Most of the time when I lock the screen I want the monitors to stay on.

However there are cases, for example when wanting to take a nap near my computer, where having less light emitting devices (like monitors) would be desirable.

The only alternative right now is either configuring the delay so monitors turn off quicker or instantly (not really convenient as I like the current config), or manually turning the monitors off and then on when I want to use them again (a bit too much work)

Why not have a button or menu item to simply turn off the monitors from within the lockscreen?

I'm on KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.2

This is not a duplicate of bug 357456, which requests an option to configure "lock and blank" as a power button action in power settings, whereas this report requests a button on the lock screeen to turn off the screen.

FWIW you can turn the screens off by hitting the Escape key.
