SUMMARY
After updating to plasma 5.20.0, new icons appeared in the main panel. These icons are smaller than standard ones.

OBSERVED RESULT
Seems like plasma 5.20 added these icons to recreate the default panel (?).

EXPECTED RESULT
I expected my panel stayed the same (without new smaller icons)

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux / Plasma 5
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0
Qt Version: 5.15.1

NEW OBSERVATION
These icons are pinned to the task manager, so I can't remove them by editing the panel. I just have to right click on the icon and press "Unpin from task manager".

Hope that may help.
Fabio

Yep, this was intentional. We added new pinned apps to the task manager by default. If you don't use pinned apps and prefer standalone panel widgets, you can just remove them.
