SUMMARY I don't know who to ask, but can something be done with discover on Plasma Mobile so it always shows a 'update/no update' notifier after it is started. It sometimes does this when there are updates but more often it doesn't appear (when there are updates). And the pull from the side takes too long when it works (7-8s) so it appears to not function, and once it's been pulled and closed it usually won't come back at all. It's quite an annoyance to do daily updates this way and a one-click button could solve it. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start Discover on mobile (pinephone) 2. Wait for notification OBSERVED RESULT Sometimes, in the event of available updates, a notifier appears, but not always. In the event of no updates, nothing happens and I must use the side bar pull which is slow at best and often does not appear. EXPECTED RESULT (ASKED FOR) Start discover and see a notifier in the event of both updates = yes and no. The same circle at the bottom with the download arrow (and greyed out if updates=no) that is used on the screen that displays the updates available. Or maybe make the sidebar appear after an update check to show the returned result. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Plasma Mobile on Pinephone (available in About System) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've noticed that the View updates notification closes after a few seconds so that may be why I said that there was often no notification so my resubmission is to simply make this notification remain, that would resolve this. Sorry for ambiguity?
OK, after updating this morning 26th Oct the sideswipe works (ty) so the problem is significantly less as I can now swipe to see if there are updates. However the notification of updates still closes and I think it should stay open unless dismissed or activated.
I'm closing this because as soon as notifications are working correctly on neon mobile (ie they will remain in the pulldown notification area), the need I described disappears.
