Description ParsaMousavi 2020-10-14 17:00:24 UTC
Prior to one of the recent updates,I was able to hit the "TAB" key two times and then navigate in the "Places" panel using Up/Down keys thereafter.
But now that feature doesn't work and I have to use my mouse.I cannot find anything concerning that in the "Configure Dolphin" window.I don't know whether it's reproducible or not though.
And I think this is not related to the number of items in the toolbar at all.Hiding the toolbar completely has no effect whatsoever.
I've tried pressing tab multiple times(4,5,even 8) but no luck.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin 20.11
2. Press TAB as many times as you want, then retry this using different number of tab-hits
3. Try to navigate in the "Places" panel using Up/Down arrow keys.

Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon 5.19.80(Ubuntu 18.04)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

I have tested this and it seems to get stuck on the Information Panel (F11) or the Places Panel.

Is that what you're experiencing Parsa?

No.Before a recent upgrade I was able to press "TAB" twice and then navigate through "Places" and then after hitting "Enter" the navigation mode had switched back to folder/file view automatically.

The problem is not that I'm stuck in the aforementioned panel, but I cannot go there using just keyboard shortcuts at all.Pressing "TAB"s cannot switch the navigation mode(to panels) anymore.

Needless to say if I left-click the "Places Panel" I can navigate through it using up/down keys thereafter. But I want to eliminate the need to "left-click".

BTW I've posted an image as attachment which demonstrates my Dolphin configuration. That might help.

Thanks for the info.

I'm able to do this on Dolphin from git master. I hit enter on an item from the Places menu and I'm then able to use the cursor keys to navigate the files/folders view.

PS What's your icon set? They look good. :)

You're welcome Justin. It would help me so much to speed up the directory navigation if that gets solved.
BTW I use "Breeze-Noir-Black-Blue" icon set :)

I've just noticed you're on an older version of KDE Neon, are you able to do all updates, it should show 5.20 and Qt version 5.15.0.
