no option for wallpaper type

SUMMARY
When I open select to change wallpaper type in screen locking, all I see is a shadow. No option is available.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to Screen Locking / Appearance in System Setting
2. Open Wallpaper type

OBSERVED RESULT
Only shadow is displayed and no option.

EXPECTED RESULT
I should see available options.

Same thing on neon unstable.
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2020-10-16 16:14:06 UTC
Looks like the dropdown isn't showing up for you when you click on the combobox.

It's working for me with everything from git master, as well as qqc2-desktop-style from the 5.75 tag.
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2020-10-16 17:15:16 UTC
David or Arjen, can either of you reproduce this?
Comment 4 David Redondo 2020-10-17 09:19:53 UTC
From the screenshot I would guess that the model of the combobox is somehow empty. So probably a bug in the kcm and not in the style.
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2020-10-17 13:46:32 UTC
OK, moving back.

Can anyone other than Elman and Patrick reproduce the issue?
Comment 6 Patrick Silva 2020-11-03 10:09:44 UTC
Today I was able to reproduce with a new user account on neon unstable.

1. create a new user account
2. start Plasma session with the new user account
3. open Appearance section of Screen Locking kcm and open "Wallpaper type" combobox (the bug shown in the attached screenshot occurs)
4. close System Settings (it crashes, it's a known bug)
5. repeat the step 3: now the "Wallpaper type" combobox lists all options as expected

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0

Comment 8 Nate Graham 2022-08-01 19:05:57 UTC
I saw this yesterday on my distro-provided 5.25 session, but can't reproduce it in my built-from-source session. Seems like we haven't found the root cause, and it's random and weird.
Comment 9 Nate Graham 2022-09-08 20:13:28 UTC
This was in fact fixed recently for Plasma 5.26.
