SUMMARY This was previously discussed here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416003 but it's actually a different bug. The issue that user had was that they thought the scrollbars were too narrow and hard to click, and wanted the option to expand them. This appears to have been changed https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396747 So that bug was closed. But I have the opposite problem: I greatly dislike the larger scrollbars because I find them aesthetically displeasing, especially when they are next to a rather narrow scrollable area, e.g. in Dolphin: https://i.imgur.com/em2hxfO.png I'd like the ability to make the scrollbars small again. An alternative solution would be to make the background of the scrollbar transparent, so that it doesn't (visually) take up such a large amount of space. Or maybe it would be sufficient to implement autohide https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388146 and then just show the scrollbars when the user initiates a scroll action (mouse wheel or touchpad gesture). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Arch Linux 5.9.0-arch1-1 KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.0 (no option for this in the version box yet) KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0 Qt Version: 5.15.1
Bug 388146 is probably your best hope. I don't think we're going to go back in the direction of making scrollbars smaller again for desktop style UIs in the Breeze theme at least. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 388146 ***
