Discover and Gwenview are different apps and therefore the causes of these issues are likely to be different for the apps. Let's use this one to track Discover; please file another one on Gwenview. Can you quantity "very long"? 5 seconds? 10 seconds? 50 seconds?

I would say 5 seconds, but the wait time is not that big of a deal, It's mildly infuriating to see a transparent window with borders. Probably does not affect usability, but it still needs to be resolved if this is a widespread issue, I did try Running both apps on neon as well (which has more updated packages) but same issue is present there.
Okay, then let's make this bug about the outline background issue. I can reproduce that some of the time. When The caches are hot, Discover starts quickly for me and I don't see the issue, but when I start Discover after it being closed for a few hours or days, I often see the issue. As you can see, it's important to be precise with your bug reports and only report one issue with each one. :)
