SUMMARY If you delete a currently open file from the command line in the Terminal sidebar, after closing the dialog that pops up, the mouse cursor stay invisible over parts of the Kate user interface. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a file in Kate. 2. Open the Terminal sidebar. (Enable the Terminal Tool View plugin first if it's not already enabled.) 3. Move the mouse cursor over the terminal. 4. Start typing. The Konsole component hides the mouse cursor while typing. 5. Delete the currently open file using an 'rm' command. 6. A "Documents Modified on Disk" dialog pops up. Close it with any of the three buttons. OBSERVED RESULT From this point, the mouse cursor remains invisible over large parts of the Kate UI, including the menu, the toolbar, and most sidebars (though not the Terminal itself). EXPECTED RESULT Mouse cursor becomes visible once you move it. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS openSUSE Tumbleweed 20200930 KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.74.0 Qt Version: 5.15.1
I can't replicate this on git master. Grósz can you please ensure you have all packages on your system up to date and retest.
Still happens on Kate 20.08.2, KDE Frameworks 5.75.0, Qt 5.15.1 (built against 5.15.1), X11. However, it only happens if you enable 'Warn about files modified by foreign processes' in Configure... / General / Behavior, so that the warning pops up in a separate dialog window. (Actually, the name of that feature is a bit misleading, as it warns about modified files either way, just if it's unchecked, it only warns when you switch to a given file.)
Thanks for the update; changing status.

I've tested with the above setting enabled and the popup window comes up and my mouse cursor is once again visible and stays that way. Are you using a particular cursor theme? I'm using the default Breeze theme. I'm setting status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved" when you respond, thanks.
