Description Brooks Knight 2020-10-01 04:21:51 UTC
SUMMARY
I run KDE Neon 5.19 and after installing the latest Phonon 4:4.11.1-4+20.04+focal+build7 I no longer had sound in my headphones due to them only being recognized as Digital Stereo ICE958 device. Even with Digital Stereo ICE958 + Analog Stereo Duplex I had no sound. I reverted the package back to 4:4.11.1-4+20.04+focal+build6 and now the sounds works again, I can set the device correctly as Analog Stereo Duplex.

Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide to help debug.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a Intel 200 Series PCH HD Audio device
2. Install phonon4qt5:amd64 4:4.11.1-4+20.04+focal+build7
3. Log out and back in

OBSERVED RESULT
Sound will no longer work in headphones plugged into back audio jack.

EXPECTED RESULT
Sound works in headphones plugged into back audio jack.

Unfortunately I don't see how one relates to the other. In build7 nothing functionally changed.

This is what is looked like now. When I was experiencing the issue only Digital Stereo ICE958 + Analog Stereo Duplex and Digital Stereo ICE958 were listed.

Harald Sitter thank you for your quick reply and you are correct!

I installed build7, complete package list below, and can't duplicate the issue. I feel horrible for wasting your time on this.

Thank you very much for looking into the issue!
