SUMMARY

Help, It keeps telling me to Recover files and I clicked discard and it deleted a work I took hours on
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Turn ur computer off with it running
2. MAke art and save as png and kra files
3. Close and click discard recovered files

OBSERVED RESULT
Item Deleted

EXPECTED RESULT
It to keep my artwork

Are you referring to Krita?

If you forgot to save your work and the program recovered the file for you, why would you click "discard" if you want to keep the file?
If you click "discard", that means you don't need the recovered file, then of course it will be deleted.

Yes, for the first one. I had saved the art piece, the "recovered" files
where autosaves and I had a finished, saved copy of them, so
I discarded them.

The autosaves are from other art pieces, saved in the same save location as
both png and kra

Krita only deletes autosave files.

Can you please attach the content of Help -> Show Krita log for bug reports (there should be a button "Save to file", save and attach the file)?

Was the file you are asking about shown on the dialog like the one I attached? (Of course in my case it shows different files and a different window frame but the content should look familiar - does it look familiar?).

The log says that you opened Krita and discarded three autosaved files. Was the file you are talking about among them?

The screenshot of the autosave recovery dialog is here: https://bugsfiles.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=132651 . Are you sure you saw 3 images there and none of them was your file? Is it possible that it was just at the end and you didn't scroll it down to see it?

Can you please tell me how this image was called and where it was saved?

Also please remove the quoted parts of the mail when replying, it makes the bug report more messy (you can see it here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427170).

Yes, I scrolled all the way down on autosaves.
The image was named "Control M.A.P" and was saved in saved photos.
