SUMMARY I have two computers running openSUSE. One uses networkmanager, and ksysguard widgets show network stats just fine; the other uses wickedd (an openSUSE creation; I need that on that other computer because otherwise NIS and autofs would start way too late), and on that one the ksysguard network monitor does not show any statistics. Plasma on both machines is from the openSUSE Build service repos STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Leap 15.2 2. Add the Plasma Repositories from build.opensuse.org 3. Update "everything" to get plasma to 5.19.90 4. Set up a network monitor widget showing upload and download rate 5. Observe: when networkmanager is used for the network the monitoring works; when wickedd is, it does not. OBSERVED RESULT While wickedd is managing the network the traffic is not "seen" EXPECTED RESULT Traffic is monitored no matter which tool is managing the network connections SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.2 KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.74.0 Qt Version: 5.15.1 Kernel Version: 5.3.18-lp152.41-default OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-4771 CPU @ 3.50GHz Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: GeForce GTX 1050/PCIe/SSE2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'm afraid these widgets have been deprecated in Plasma 5 and removed in Plasma 6. They have been replaced with the newer System Monitor widgets.
