SUMMARY
Heic format cannot be read.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Shooting in small heic format
2. Can't read from krita
Gimp is readable.

Sorry, but this is clearly not a critical bug, so I'm downgrading to normal. Please attach a sample file that Krita cannot loadto this bug report; without that we cannot do anything.

Are you using the Krita binary from Deepin? Or did you compile Krita from source?

It looks like Deepin's Krita is outdated (4.0.3) [1], so HEIF/HEIC is not supported.

If you compile Krita yourself, please make sure you have libheif installed during compilation.

Or please test using the latest beta (https://krita.org/en/item/first-beta-out-for-krita-4-4/) -- there is an appimage that should work on your linux system. I just checked, and the test file opens fine with that.

I am using 4.3.0.
It was installed with the following command.
flatpak install flathub org.kde.krita

Can you read the files I uploaded?

HEIC format opens well in Krita 4.4 beta.
