SUMMARY (WISH) Indicate in "Project Bin" if a clip/image is used in Timeline or not. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Import clip to project 2. You can right click over the clip in Project Bin, there is a menu item called "Clip in Timeline". It's sub-menu is a list of occurrences of that clip in timeline. If the clip is not used anywhere in timeline the menu will be disabled (grayed out). Tested here with kdenlive-20.11.70-8a08988-x86_64.appimage Please test this procedure on last kdenlive version. If you find that this behavior satisfy your needs, please close this bug. Otherwise please explain in details the desired behavior.
Created attachment 131872 [details] Example with and without indicator.
Comment on attachment 131872 [details] Example with and without indicator. Yes I know the right click option, but as user it is not very handy, especially with many clips/images. I added an example png with current view on the left side and 2 example views with an "in timeline" indicator.
Thanks for your report! Kdenlive indicates if clip is in the timeline by something like "[2]" after the duration timecode in the tree view which means in this case the clip is used two times in the timeline. Adding an option to display the state like in your mock-up can be nice too.
With version 21.12 (release in December) there are now blue audio/video icons to highlight better whether the clip is used in the timeline or not.
