SUMMARY

userswitcher fails to switch users

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. install userswitcher applet
2. select other user

OBSERVED RESULT

Nothing happens

EXPECTED RESULT

userswitcher switches user

Just confirming this on Archlinux with 5.19.5 currently.

Also it was working fine a few weeks ago. Not sure when exactly it broke but probably with 5.19.

Clicking "New Sessions" still goes to the login manager fine, it's just clicking on another user name that's broken.

Only tested on X11 here.

I installed the user switcher widget and it works for me, but there is no switch user option on login screen nor in the application launcher.

When using gdm instead of sddm to log in, the user switcher applet works.

Are you able to reproduce this issue in Plasma 5.25 or later?

For myself (not the original reporter) I can say this has been working for some time now, with gdm, and I believe with sddm too.
