SUMMARY
AppImage updating does not work, because the AppImage does not contain update information. (The check fails silently, and the updater dialog does not appear. The unsuccessful check is logged in krita.log. That is by design.)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download a nightly appimage 
2. in the console, run ./<appimage> --appimage-updateinformation

OBSERVED RESULT
Empty string.

EXPECTED RESULT
The AppImage contains the right update information.

is this for the plus or Krita next? Because boud mentioned only master has that information?

Next. Last time I did an update was around 19th August, it worked correctly.
